City Palace, Udaipur, is a complex with many palaces in it. Construction of this palace was done for over four hundred years, though in parts. The interesting part is that the king used to live in different palaces in the complex at different times in a year depending up on the seasons.
The palace in the middle of a lake, where the king lived in summers, is now transformed in a luxury hotel by the Taj group. This luxury hotel is completely booked for the coming year or two. That means you can live in a palace without even ruling a kingdom! Though the damage that can happen to your pockets should be taken care of. This complex is now hired even for movie shootings, engagements, marriages etc.
Well, one palace has a naturally
growing tree on the top floor!
